Job description

  • Develop and maintain the IT procurement category strategy based on, the IT strategy and roadmap, spend analysis, business input, your expertise and understanding of key suppliers’ product offerings and the IT market. You align this strategy with IT management to have a strong common goal and clear expectations.
  • You are the owner of strategic sourcing initiatives related to IT spend, with the support and in cooperation with the IT department.
  • You as an IT procurement expert are the interface between IT business and IT suppliers to support the IT department and achieve overall strategic goals
  • You have the ability to understand and respect the business needs, but also challenge these needs and to engage & influence the internal stakeholders (includes C-level) in order to bring added value to the IT department and Arvesta as organization.
  • You have (strong) knowledge of all kind of IT domains such as technology, consultancy, products & services and a good understanding of IT goals and strategies
  • Based on spend analysis, you strive to work as much as possible with preferred suppliers which are covered with a framework agreement. You advise team leads and IT management on contract interpretation and in developing solutions and formal recommendations to ensure further sustainable cooperation with those suppliers.
  • You manage supplier performance on a regular basis with your internal stakeholder through the use of cost, quality, delivery metrics and contract (re)negotiations
  • Identify process improvement opportunities in order to drive better cost, quality and delivery performance
  • You are responsible for the content and storage of all relevant contractual documents
  • You are part of the approval flow in the Purchase 2 Pay (P2P) process

Services will be delivered from Arvesta’s HQ offices in Leuven, supporting a number of sites. Flexibility will be required in location dependent upon service needs and the requirement to provide cover at all sites.

Profile

  • You have at least 5 years of experience of working within a procurement role, from which at least 3 years in an IT category manager role, ideally in a large organisation
  • You are able to work well under pressure, work effectively and able to put priorities when needed
  • You have a good knowledge of IT procurement, there for you can become a real expert in the field and a real trusted business partner to guide the IT Roadmap from a procurement perspective.
  • You have excellent communication skills at all levels (also C-level). You are able to develop productive relationships with suppliers and with multiple stakeholders within Arvesta. Therefore communicating in a diplomatic way but able to inspire and convince other people is needed.
  • You have good organizational skills – both in terms of personal organization and in relation to manage supplier records and the associated processes.
  • You develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to exceed stakeholder expectations
  • You have strong analytical and reporting skills and can work in a team context as alone
