Job description

As Supply Chain Buyer, you are responsible to manage the spend for your categories: building trustful relationships with your internal stakeholders, identify opportunities for improvement projects, developing a purchasing strategy and negotiating group contracts. Together with your internal stakeholders, you will build a project planning to realize improvement targets for goods and services in collaboration with your Purchasing Manager Indirect Spend: optimization of specifications, value creation, process and flow improvements, innovation and automation, sustainability projects, …

  • Develop and implement a strategy for your categories of goods and services, which are mainly warehousing (chilled & frozen), logistics (not inbound // added value logistic services) and 3PL
  • 4 geographical regions to focus on: France – Rest of Europe – Italy & Poland.
  • Follow up on market trends / movements. I.e. newly built warehouses, logistic offerings, …
  • Apply strategic sourcing process to negotiate, write and implement group contracts
  • Build Supplier Relationship Management for your key suppliers
  • Assure contract management, roll-out and follow-up
  • Build cross-functional teams to understand the stakeholder’s requirements and opportunities for improvement and standardization within the Vandemoortele Group
  • Develop strong stakeholders’ relationships to assure a good collaboration and effective roll-out and build bridges between your diverse internal stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities and make a project timing to achieve KPI’s and value creation based on spend analysis and priorities with your stakeholders and your manager
  • Reporting and follow-up of KPI’s
  • Play an active role in the development and the roll-out of digitalization of procurement within the Vandemoortele Group
  • Act as a center of expertise of professional purchasing for your categories within the Vandemoortele Group and share updated market information
  • You report to the Purchasing Manager Indirect Spend

Profile

  • You hold a Master degree, preferably combined with a first relevant experience in purchasing, supply chain, logistics or project management
  • You have well-developed analytical, conceptual and synthetic skills
  • You have pragmatic and dynamic personality and a problem-solving attitude
  • You are flexible, proactive, stress resistant and result oriented
  • You are able to work independently
  • You are eager to learn and to further grow within the organization
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, in English and French
  • You are willing to travel within Europe (10%-20% – short trips)
  • You possess a good legal knowledge and can draft contracts in a fashionable way
