To strengthen the procurement  department, we are looking for a capex buyer.

Job description

As Capex and Technical Buyer, you will work within the indirect procurement team, where you are responsible to manage your categories: develop a purchasing strategy and group contracts for your areas of responsibility. Together with your internal stakeholders, you will build a project planning to realize improvement targets for goods and services in collaboration with your Purchasing Manager Indirect Spend: optimization of specifications, value creation, process and flow improvements, innovation, sustainability improvements …

  • Develop and implement a purchasing strategy for your categories of goods and services together with your stakeholders.
  • Build Supplier Relationship Management and collaborate closely with your key suppliers to bring innovation, sustainability improvements and value creation into Vandemoortele
  • Apply strategic sourcing process to negotiate, write and implement group contracts
  • Build cross-functional teams to understand the stakeholder’s requirements, opportunities for improvement and standardization within the Vandemoortele Group
  • Develop strong stakeholders’ relationships to assure a good collaboration and build bridges between your diverse internal stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities and make a project plan to achieve KPI’s, value creation and lifetime cost improvements
  • Reporting and follow-up of KPI’s
  • Act as a centre of expertise of professional purchasing for your categories within the Vandemoortele Group
  • Strive to make your portfolio future proof in a more sustainable way and you actively support the sustainability strategy and processes of the company
  • Report to the Purchasing Manager Indirect Spend
  • 80% focus on production lines / machinery – 20% focus on construction/renovation.

Profile 

  • You hold a Master degree in (business) engineering
  • You have several years of relevant experience in purchasing and/or project management.
  • You have well-developed analytical, conceptual and synthetic skills
  • You have excellent negotiating skills and you have affinity with legal contracts and liability
  • You are ambitious, energetic, driven and open to receive and give challenges. Your drive and enthusiasm will motivate you to go the extra mile in engaging others
  • You are stress resistant, pragmatic, problem-solving (thinking out of the box) and you take initiatives.
  • You can work independently
  • You have excellent communication and persuasion skills which enable you to motivate, drive and engage your internal and external stakeholders
  • You are fluent in English and French
  • You are willing to travel 10-30% of your time
