To reinforce their procurement team, 3D systems is looking for a commodity buyer.
Job description
As a team member of the Metals Procurement organization, the commodity buyer will be responsible for procuring components to build our 3DS machines, metal powder and spare parts. He/she will work with assigned suppliers to meet quality, on-time delivery and price requirements, thereby taking initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Enable revenue through assurance of supply parts availability through timely issuance of purchase orders and active follow up; use KPI’s to analyze, drive corrective actions and regular reporting out
- Measure supplier performance and work with suppliers to resolve quality and quantity discrepancies
- Evaluate criticalities and take mitigating actions e.g., risk buys
- Systems maintenance
- Accurate information and parameter setting in the installed ERP system
- Manage operational excellence and balance with inventory optimization
- Select suppliers in alignment with commodity strategies, validated components, and capacity
- Work towards achievement of the targeted cost through negotiating; motivate suppliers to come with value added/value engineering opportunities
- Actively focus on risk mitigation & supply chain optimization (+data management).
Profile
- Minimum 5 years of proven procurement experience
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain
- Advanced experience with MS Office is required; knowledge of Oracle is a plus
- Hands on (dynamic/flexible), well organized, structured, speed of execution, critical, taking initiatives
- Strong verbal and formal communication & influencing skills, assertive to build network with internal stakeholders
- Proactive problem solver with team oriented mindset.
- Mature, dynamic & talkative. Knows how to read an audience and act towards it.
