Client Description

As a leading distributor in duty free travel retail in Europe, Overseas supplies retail outlets of a wide range of clients. They serve key airports, inflight customers, bordershops, diplomatic suppiers, ship chandlers and military organisations in more than 50 countries.

Their HQ lies in Antwerp. A top logistics centrein Europe, that connects the most important ports, highways and airports and offers the best supply solution for their clients.

At their Antwerp warehouse of 14.000 m2 Overseas stocks over 4000 SKU’s of duty free products in the categories, tobacco, cigarettes, cigars, spirits, wines, champagne, P&C and confectionery.

Overseas employs more than 60 people, exclusively involved in the duty free travel retail distribution.

To further strengthen the organisation, we are on the look-out for a procurement director.

Job description

  • You will lead a team of 6 purchase managers and 1 business analyst – the team focusses on a variety of categories: wines, spirtis, perfumes, confectionery, tobacco,…
  • You ensure high quality supplier relationship management and monitor individual supplier performance (KAM-annual supplier meetings etc).
  • You guarantee your departement builds bridges between purchasing activities and sales activities. You will closely work together with different stakeholders and ensure procurement is bringing added value to the organization.
  • You follow-up on market trends and look for new business opportunities with new and existing suppliers.
  • You will strongly partner with Customer Service & Logistics regarding the fulfillment of PO’s and optimization of service/communication levels in oirder to maximize supplier satisfaction. You will also spar intensively with Sales & Finance.
  • You take ownership on process management, data quality & digitalization (Navision). You aim to continuously improve systems & tools.
  • You take full responsibility on optimal stock management (Slim Stock).
  • You will be in charge to set up a procurement program with new initiatives & projects.
  • You will coach, empower, lead, develop and expand your team in close collaboration with HR.
  • You will report to the CEO.

  • You are fluent in English, other languages are a plus.
  • You are digitally savvy and have a good feel for process definition and improvement.
  • You show strong analytical skills and are commercially gifted.
  • You are detail oriented, know how to get full control on the entire supply chain and bring added value throughout every step of the process.
  • You are a strong project manager who loves to take end-2-end ownership.
