We are looking for a strongly skilled and heavily passioned purchasing professional to join as purchasing manager for Belgium. You will be joining an enthusiastic, committed and passionate team of more than 9000 employees in a Belgian & Spanish-owned family business.

 Job description

  • You will responsible for the purchasing of all indirect goods & services in Belgium with an estimated spend of 100 million euro per year. Categories include: production & facilities, HR, quality expenses, R&D, marketing & sales, energy, external warehouse,…
  • Fleet (+/-500 cars), waste streams and travel (+/- 3000 business trips/year) are a focal point.
  • You are responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies, contract management and supplier development.
  • You will act as a center of competence and transfer best practices for the purchasing of indirect goods and services outside of Belgium.
  • You will establish a network of contacts and work closely together with department heads to make sure that the purchasing strategies are accepted and implemented.
  • You challenge your stakeholders where needed but most of all create added value while improving purchasing maturity and efficiency.
  • You will make sure business requirements are met, cost efficiency and optimal market presence is guaranteed.
  • You take the lead over a portfolio of about 3000 suppliers, you will take up the challenge to reduce/consolidate the supplier base.
  • You make your contribution in building procurement intelligence and hold a critical eye for process improvement.
  • You will manage a team of 2 people.

Profile

  • You hold a Master degree topped with relevant business experience.
  • You know your way around P2P and have a good feel for data analysis.
  • You show a strong affinity for legal, you negotiate in a correct but tough manor and invest in a strong contract management.
  • You at least show 4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • You are detail oriented, organized and able to function effectively and productively in an extremely fast-paced enviroment.
  • You know how to prioritize in order to consistently meet deadlines.
  • You get energy out of change, you relish the opportunity to re-build and re-engineer towards the most ideal outcome possible.
  • You are able to challenge the status-quo.
  • You have strong networking skills (internally & externally)
  • You speak dutch, french and english fluently.
