CUSTOMER
Our client is a global reference for interior design and building. They engineer, manufacture and market a wide product range, focusing (among others) on laminate flooring and engineered parquet. They employ 7.500 people at 105 locations achieving a turnover of € 2.21 billion in 2020.
CHALLENGES
- Considering a global distortion in the raw material supply, combined with an explosive increase in demand, orders were piling up, in turn leading to a major drop in service levels.
- Next to that, pressure on the employees within the production planning team grew drastically, causing major distress.
RESULTS
- Purson coached and supported the team and followed up on the day-to-day operations, helping where needed and slowly chipping away at the piled-up orders.
- We initiated the set-up of capacity planning within a different cluster in the multi-plant environment.
- Working together with internal stakeholders to make sure customers had a correct stock view and were more involved in the manufacturing and delivery process.
- Segmenting clients in different tiers, granting every tier a different level of insight in the current planning status.
