Job description

 

(A) Business aligned Procurement:

Overall responsible for procurement activities which include sourcing, supplier approval and selection, sample approval, contracting, pricing / quotation, payment term, consignment, supplier rating and evaluation. Together with your local team (1 strategic buyer – 2 operational buyers – 1 data analyst – 3 SQA professionals).

Secure supply and permanently resolve recurring supplier caused quality and delivery problems.

Develop and maintain reliable and cost competitive sources of supply. Alignment of global source / supplier where applicable. Work with technical/research team in achieving component –and supplier harmonization and work closely with the operation team to optimize economic order quantities

 

  1. B) Low Cost Countries Sourcing (LCCS)

Plan and conduct work activities in market research of supply base, gathering market intelligence, identify and recommend local potential suppliers that fit global procurement initiatives.

Play an active role in identifying commodities / suppliers suitable for central contract and assist in coordination of contract negotiation & administration, supplier audit & development, shipment and quality & SHE compliance. Ensuring potential global suppliers adhering to Flint Group SHE, code of conduct, regulatory and Sustainability policy.

  • You are responsible for establishing and maintaining a capable supply base (ATM: +/- 600 suppliers for +/- 5000 components) for Xeikon. Must control costs of purchased materials through: use of alternative sourcing, commodity aggregation, negotiation, ABC analysis, pushback, supplier reengineering, make/buy proposals and material substitutions. The position is also responsible for transactional buying, carried out by two employees in the team.
  • Your sourcing decisions should be based on what is best for Xeikon overall (TCO), however also very well understanding the effects of the decision on the individual part of the different businesses.
  • You should balance the short, medium and long term benefits.
  • You coordinate with the technical team on the specific machine requirements and opportunities.
  • You have good inter-personal skills because you will interact with all levels of management, both inside the company and outside in supplier company organizations. You work closely with Technical, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Production, Quality Assurance, and Logistic. At the appropriate time, you take whatever actions are required when a supplier problem threatens the company production / profitability. You must be resourceful and protect the company’s interests balancing both short-term and long term requirements.
  • You provide the Global Procurement team on a regular basis with relevant procurement data like forecasting, payment terms, project progress, single sourcing and many more. Able to make sound judgement from market intelligence gathered and devise creative and yet practical procurement strategies. Ensure that procurement practices in Xeikon are aligned with the overall Flint Group standards.
  • You shall be the only person in region initiating alternative components and negotiating purchasing terms and conditions with suppliers on components and NPR purchases.
  • You are responsible for sourcing of all components, mechanical subcontracting, inks and NPR (i.e. services, MRO), required by Xeikon. The sourcing responsibility should only end with first delivery in the case of components and establishment of contract in the case of NPR. General spend is approximately 30-50€ M/Y.
  • You ensure all data administration in regard to procurement database are on time and accurate.
  • You Regularly review suppliers’ performance jointly with QC / Technical and production department.
  • You provide necessary documentation according to overall Group regulatory requirement.
  • You work together openly, enthusiastically and closely with all different stakeholders in Xeikon and Flint procurement colleagues around the world to realize the full potential of our business goals.
  • You manage professionally suppliers in giving maximum value to Xeikon and Flint Group, while maintaining good supplier relationships.
  • You control the cost of purchased materials within budget and generate cost reduction action plans.
  • You attain a level of product/commodity knowledge and to attain a level of awareness of supplier operations as they pertain to the company.
  • You resolve professionally problems (both internal and external), in a fair and ethical manner.
  • You are generally proficient in all aspects of the buying assignment.

Profile

  • Education: Degree in mechanics or electronics is preferred .
  • Experience: Min. 3-5 years in sourcing and procurement management function in a similar type of industry. Exposure to mechanical or electronic components is a benefit.
  • To be successful in this position, a person must demonstrate leadership traits, have a sound business understanding, good organizational & communication skills and good mathematical aptitude, must be able to operate a personal computer using application software such as SAP, Microsoft Office, and have knowledge of quality assurance philosophies, practices, and techniques as well as procurement tools and tactics.
  • You must be a self-starter able to work without close supervision, understanding what needs to be done, and taking the required actions. Each commodity assignment has characteristics that require different tactics and the person must be able to read each situation and act accordingly.
  • A team player and comfortable with Dutch and English as working language.
  • Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
