IT category management & Covid-cost-reduction programme in HR-category – SERVICES

CUSTOMER

The customer is an international financial institution focussing on retail, private & wholesale banking. They offer a wide array of financial products to millions of clients through the distribution channel of their choice.

CHALLENGES

  • Client was faced with the departure of their IT Category Manager and needed to replace her urgently and could only do so through an external consultant
  • Client built a large external workforce (+/-2000 consultants), which stands for a huge cost – when Covid struck, the need was raised to realize savings in this category

RESULTS

  • Category management for entire external IT workforce: development of category plan which got approved by MT – co-lead BE/NL RFP to install system of preferred suppliers with ~ 800 resources in scope – development of hiring rules for external resources
  • Contract & vendor management for banking automation (ATM, kiosk non cash, ATS) and the hiring of IT externals
  • Co-lead “temporary measures for external resources” – savings initiative related to the Covid 19-crisis
  • Procurement representative to the IT sourcing board
  • Realization of multiple ad hoc IT software/hardware projects
