MRP setup and warehouse optimization – FOOD

CUSTOMER

Client is a family-owned company that became part of a multinational company in 2005. Their expertise lies solely with a certain branch of chocolate production for private label clients

CHALLENGES

  • Due to an explosive growth in demand, because of the bigger client network, supply chain couldn’t maintain the same service levels as they did before.
  • Additional stress was put on the employees of the company, creating a stressful environment.

RESULTS

  • Purson stepped in the material / production planning team to make sure pressure on the employees didn’t get too high.
  • Analysis of current material supply planning as well as current production planning procedures.
  • Cleaned up all the master data and made sure the existing EXCEL-files were mostly worked away in / interfaced with the ERP-system.
  • Created MRP-procedures in Navision, wrote a clear manual and made sure other planners received proper instruction.
  • Analysis of current in-and outbound logistics flow
  • Optimization of the warehouse setup, introducing a new scanning system
