Supply Chain Supervising – CHEMICALS
CUSTOMER
Client is a leading specialty chemicals company with around 13,100 employees in 33 countries all across the globe. Core business consists of development, manufacturing and marketing of chemical intermediates, additives and consumer protection products.
CHALLENGES
- Local supply chain planning supervisor had to be replaced for more than a year. As there are two teams in two different locations in the Port of Antwerp, operational continuity had to be guaranteed.
RESULTS
- Acted as an interface between the team (11 FTE), external stakeholders (packaging suppliers & LSP) and internal stakeholders on an international level (procurement, logistics, customer service, IT).
- Supporting the team with possible exceptions in day-to-day operations.
- Built the bridge with chartering colleagues as to simplify the existing chartering procedures for the dry bulk shipping.
- Picked up several existing projects, while implementing a mindset of continuous improvement in the team.
- Made sure logistical activities were attuned to the complex processes in the two different manufacturing facilities in Belgium.
